Even having it at the level right below fully upgraded is much, much easier it is actually impossible to do the moves that the last upgrade tacks on in the additional time it gives you (the moves start taking forever to finish their execution graphic) - meaning that no matter how good you are, it is impossible not to lose time as you go. But the additional moves are difficult to execute every time, and the time is barely enough to execute them if you do them perfectly. The way it works is that for each level you have in lightsaber, the challenge tacks on some more moves and some more time. It's trivial if you do it with a lightsaber that has no points in it. I still think that was faster than mastering that first challenge with a fully upgraded lightsaber. Keep in mind that this entails finishing the game again for no other purpose than unlocking all the challenges on this new save. It was so hard that I decided it would be not only easier, but faster as well, if I just started a new save and did all the challenges on that new save. I tried this challenge a couple of dozen times and was never close to finishing it, having finished the game and maxed out my lightsaber on the way. You can complete the game before you do it, but I would at the very least warn people not to put points into the lightsaber until they've done that first challenge. The first challenge is overwhelmingly difficult if you have fully upgraded your lightsaber. However, PuckJunkie offers alternative advice:
